Service description
White River provides quantitative research, indices, forecasts, and decision-support tools for the art market. All outputs are model estimates intended for informational purposes; nothing on this site constitutes investment, financial, legal, tax, or professional art advisory services.
Permitted use
You may use White River for personal or internal business research subject to your subscription tier. Bulk extraction, redistribution, resale, or scraping of platform outputs is prohibited without a written license. The public API is the supported channel for programmatic access; rate limits and per-key usage caps apply.
No advisory relationship
Use of White River does not create an advisory, fiduciary, or appraisal relationship between you and us. Model outputs may be incorrect, outdated, or unsuitable for your specific decision. We disclaim warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose to the maximum extent permitted by law. Past performance of art markets does not guarantee future results.
Service availability
We target 99.5% uptime for the public API and dashboard measured monthly. The platform's recovery objectives are RPO ≤ 24 hours (the window of writes we may lose in a worst-case database recovery) and RTO ≤ 4 hours (time to restore service after a major incident). These are objectives, not guarantees; see Liability for the limit on our exposure if we miss them.
Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.
Market conduct
You may not use the platform to facilitate market manipulation, coordinated bidding, wash trading, or any conduct that misleads a counterparty about the value of a lot. You must not act on material non-public information (MNPI) obtained through the service or use White River outputs to front-run an upcoming sale you have privileged knowledge of. White River research notes (including the White River thesis synthesis) are analytical opinions, not solicitations to buy or sell, and may not be redistributed in whole or in part to non- subscribers without prior written consent.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and acting on your own behalf or on behalf of a business you are authorized to represent.
Auction-house content
White River publishes factual auction sale records — lot, date, realized price, currency. We do not republish proprietary auction-house content (photographs, catalogue copy, condition reports). See our data rights & takedown policy for how rightsholders can request removals.
Changes
We may update these terms; continued use after a change constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be communicated by email to active subscribers.
